Weekend of some historic cricket wins

Last weekend was just amazing – there were some thrilling cricket wins all over the world.

First up, Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand in New Zealand and that really is an amazing feat. Of course, it was once again Murali who showed his wizadry and spun the Sri Lankans to victory. The series is levelled at 1-1 and Sri Lanka now go into the 1-dayers with their tail up and confidence on a high.

Next, Australia retained the Ashes in a thrilling Test match at the WACA. Once again, it was the old warrior Shane Warne, who did the trick with some fantastic leg spin bowling. Earlier, there was some excellent batting some the Aussies – Hussey, Clarke and Gilchrist. I am sure the Aussies must be feeling really emotional now especially after losing the Ashes to England last summer.

Lastly, the most sigificant for all Indian cricket fans – India won the 1st test match at the Wanderers and this was their first Test win on foreign soil. It truly was a fantastic effort from all the players – Sree Santh led the bowling attach, Zaheer Khan was great and Kumble, as usual, was inspirational. All in all, it was a great Test match and Kudos to India for winning it.
